The center is associated with the Folkpartiet Liberalerna and works in countries of eastern, south-eastern Europe (e.g. Belarus or Serbia) and Cuba for the development of democratic political structures, human rights and individual liberty. It is a member of the [http://www.epde.org European Platform for Democratic Elections]. It joined the Liberal International at its congress in Oxford 1997.
