<br>It is the organizationally independent political party foundation, institution of political education and with their Green Academy Think Tank of the party "Alliance '90 / The Greens".
It was formed by the merger of three separate green foundation projects, the foundations ''Buntstift'' (Göttingen), ''Frauenanstiftung (Hamburg) and Heinrich Böll Foundation (Cologne) each a member of the green ''Stiftungsverband Regenbogen''
